Hello all,
Firstly, Happy Easter ... bring on the chocolate eggs and Easter pressies.
We are now well into our third full year of opening since the Covid pandemic, and we are currently running at around 90% capacity compared to our pre-pandemic status.
As was the case for a lot of charities and businesses, Coronavirus hit us hard, but we are getting there and feel that within the 12 months we hope will be back at pre-covid levels.
Since we have returned we have had several new groups start and can find information on all our groups by clicking here for daytime groups and classes and clicking here for the evening groups.
Our Luncheon Club is up, running, and more successful than ever and along with our Bowling Group, Tablet Training & Movie Club it really is a great place to meet new people and get involved.
A new friendship group that will borrow aspects of our Luncheon Club has started and run on a Thursday mornings in Bennett Hall.
We have also started some great new groups including Painting with The Masters, Mental Health & Wellbeing Through Yoga a Sewing / Knitting Group and a Wednesday afternoon sports club.
We also offer one-on-one tablet and laptop training; just give us a call and we’ll be more than willing to help.
Also remember that if you need to speak to a local councillor or M.P they run their monthly advice surgeries from Quinborne and more information regarding those can be found here.
Several our new groups are being run in conjunction with the National Lottery and are heavily subsidised for more information click here or feel free to contact us at the centre.
The café has recently been refurbished so why not stop by and grab and a drink and a slice of cake, or even a freshly cooked breakfast. The cafe is open 9.00am - 1.00pm, Monday – Friday and between 9.00am – 12.00pm on Saturday mornings.
For those interested in more structured learning courses we are currently looking into running those and we should have an update for you shortly.
Coach trips are also back this year with the next one being Nottingham and at the end of the year we will be taking a taking in the sights of the York Christmas Market.
As you can see, we have loads planned for the next few months so please keep checking back to the website and over the next couple of weeks we will be publishing our updated activity schedule and when the courses mentioned above will be started and how to enrol on them.
We have also recently had the windows replaced in rooms 5, 6 & 7 and will also be continuing our decorating program in these rooms with the intention being to get them all repainted by April 24.
As you will have noticed and with your help we've returned to the selling of bric-a-brac, books, DVDs, and cd’s, and we must say a big thank you to all of you out there that have donated items to us, as always, they are very appreciated and very welcome.
